
Senior Executive Officer
Harlow District Council
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shutdown between Christmas and New Year)
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Executive Officer to join our Executive Office. This is a pivotal role supporting the Leader of the Council, Managing Director and Executive Management Team, ensuring the effective leadership and delivery of the Council’s corporate priorities.
You will work at the heart of the organisation, providing high-level executive support. You will be working across organisational boundaries as one team, to support the Council in delivering its corporate policy framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional executive support including diary, inbox, and correspondence management for senior leaders.
- Prepare reports, briefings, presentations and meeting documentation.
- Attend and minute meetings, ensuring timely follow-up of actions.
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing Executive Office budgets and financial processes.
- Contribute to the leadership and smooth running of the Executive Office.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, resilient and professional individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You will hold an NVQ Level 4 in Administration, ILM Team Leader qualification, or have significant experience providing senior-level executive or secretarial support. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload. As well as strong interpersonal skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels. It is essential to have a high level of discretion and understanding of confidentiality, and be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
