About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly proactive Recruitment Specialist (Project Lead) to lead a focused six-month recruitment project, supporting the delivery of a significant recruitment campaign across Finance.

This is not a traditional vacancy-management role. You will take ownership of a defined recruitment project involving approximately 21 specialist roles, working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their requirements, develop targeted attraction strategies and proactively identify and engage high-quality candidates. We are looking for a strong, credible recruiter with a proven track record of successfully delivering challenging recruitment campaigns. You will need to be tenacious, commercially aware and comfortable going beyond traditional advertising methods to find the right talent.

What you’ll be doing:
You will take the lead on the recruitment project from initial scoping through to successful appointment, including:
• Leading the end-to-end recruitment of approximately 21 roles within the agreed project timeframe.
• Building strong relationships with hiring managers and senior stakeholders to understand their services, recruitment challenges and workforce requirements.
• Developing tailored attraction and sourcing strategies for individual roles and candidate markets.
• Proactively identifying and approaching prospective candidates through headhunting, direct sourcing and networking.
• Building new professional networks and talent pipelines to increase access to high-quality candidates.
• Using LinkedIn, professional networks, talent pools and other sourcing channels to identify passive as well as active candidates.
• Providing credible specialist recruitment advice and constructively challenging hiring managers where required.
• Reviewing campaign performance and adapting sourcing strategies quickly where the required candidates are not being attracted.
• Managing candidates throughout the recruitment journey, maintaining engagement and delivering an excellent candidate experience.
• Providing regular project updates, recruitment intelligence and insight to key stakeholders.
• Maintaining momentum across multiple campaigns and ensuring recruitment activity remains on track against agreed milestones.

About the Team

You will be part of a collaborative Talent and Resourcing function, working alongside Recruitment Managers, Coordinators and the wider HR & OD team to deliver a high-performing recruitment service. The team partners closely with hiring managers across the organisation, providing expert advice and hands-on support to meet resourcing demands. With a strong focus on service delivery, innovation and continuous improvement, the team uses modern recruitment tools and ATS systems to optimise processes and enhance both hiring manager and candidate experience.

About You

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running. You will already be an accomplished recruiter and able to demonstrate a strong track record of personally delivering recruitment campaigns.

You will have:
•    Significant experience of managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns.
•    A proven track record of successfully recruiting to specialist, professional or difficult-to-fill roles.
•    Strong experience of direct sourcing and headhunting, rather than relying solely on advertised applications.
•    Evidence of developing successful candidate attraction strategies.
•    Experience of building professional networks, talent pipelines and candidate communities.
•    The confidence and credibility to advise, influence and challenge hiring managers and senior stakeholders.
•    Strong candidate engagement and relationship-building skills.
•    The ability to understand a new candidate market quickly and identify where the strongest talent can be found.
•    Excellent organisation and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and priorities simultaneously.
•    A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the tenacity to keep searching when the right candidates are difficult to find.
•    The ability to use recruitment data and market intelligence to inform decisions and change approach where necessary.

We’re looking for a proactive, tenacious and resourceful recruitment specialist who thrives on sourcing hard-to-find talent and building strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers. You’ll be confident navigating new candidate markets, adapting your approach when needed and using your expertise in attraction, sourcing and stakeholder management to deliver successful recruitment outcomes. Above all, you’ll be motivated by finding the right people rather than simply completing a process.
