A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the role
We are looking for a Procurement & Contracts Officer to play a key role in the management, administration and performance monitoring of the Council’s Housing Asset Management Partnering Contracts. These strategic contracts support the delivery of planned maintenance, major works, capital investment and improvement programmes across the Council’s housing stock.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Haringey’s Asset Management team at a time of significant investment in our homes. The primary focus of the role is ensuring the Council’s partnering contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle, delivering high-quality services, value for money and positive outcomes for residents.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day contract management and administration of a range of housing contracts, ensuring contractors meet their contractual obligations and deliver against agreed performance standards. This will include monitoring contractor performance, reviewing and analysing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), overseeing social value commitments, maintaining contract records and supporting effective contract compliance.
A significant part of the role will involve contract administration, including maintaining accurate contract documentation and monitoring contractual obligations. You will also support occasional procurement and commissioning activity, including obtaining quotations, supporting tender exercises and evaluations and helping to ensure compliance with procurement legislation and the Council’s procurement procedures.
About the team
The Housing Major Works Team is responsible for delivering a programme of investment and improvement works across Haringey’s housing stock. Working closely with contractors, consultants and residents, the team manages major refurbishment and maintenance projects that help ensure homes remain safe, sustainable and fit for the future. As part of a collaborative and commercially focused service, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes and value for money for residents.
About you
You will be an organised, proactive and commercially aware professional with experience in contract management, contract administration, supplier performance management, or a related discipline, ideally gained within housing, asset management, construction, property services, or the public sector.
You will have experience of monitoring contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and supporting the effective administration of contracts throughout their lifecycle. Confident in working with contractors, partners and stakeholders at all levels, you will use performance data and commercial insight to drive service improvement, manage risks, and ensure contractual commitments are delivered effectively.
You will possess a strong understanding of contract management principles, including performance monitoring, governance, compliance, risk management and supplier relationship management, with experience of monitoring KPIs, producing performance reports, supporting contract review meetings, maintaining contractual records, and overseeing social value commitments being highly advantageous. You will be comfortable interpreting contract documentation, analysing complex information, and identifying practical solutions to contractual and operational challenges.
With excellent organisational skills, you will be able to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet governance requirements. Above all, you will be collaborative, outcome-focused and committed to delivering excellent services for residents, building strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders while confidently challenging underperformance and promoting continuous improvement to help achieve the Council’s housing investment and asset management objectives.
