About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter with proven experience in locksmithing, supported by practical experience or relevant training, to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of repair and maintenance tasks across our housing stock, ensuring all work is completed safely, in line with regulatory standards and delivered to a high standard for our residents. This is a hands-on role where your technical ability and workmanship will contribute directly to the safety, security, and comfort of our homes.
About the Team
You’ll be joining a supportive and professional team that values collaboration, quality workmanship and continuous improvement. Led by experienced managers, our team works across a range of properties and projects, with a shared commitment to delivering timely and effective repairs. We foster a positive working environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and succeed.
About You
You are a qualified carpenter with experience in domestic repairs and maintenance, ideally gained within a social housing environment. You also have practical experience in locksmithing or evidence of relevant training that supports your ability to carry out lock-related repairs safely and professionally.
You take pride in delivering high quality work, communicate clearly with colleagues and residents, and use digital tools confidently to manage jobs and record outcomes. If you are reliable, proactive and committed to making a positive difference for our residents, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
