About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Practitioner to join our Adults Social Care team. In this pivotal role, you will manage a complex caseload while providing expert guidance, professional support and case management oversight to social care colleagues. You will undertake assessments for adults with complex and high-risk needs, lead safeguarding enquiries, chair safeguarding meetings, and support the Team Manager in ensuring high-quality service delivery. The post also includes deputising for the Team Manager when required and contributing to the operational leadership of the team.

About the team

Our Adults Social Care service is committed to supporting residents to maximise their independence, improve wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with colleagues across adult services, health partners, housing, public health, voluntary sector organisations and other agencies to deliver person-centred and joined-up services. The team is passionate about safeguarding adults at risk and embraces a strengths-based approach that enables individuals and their carers to make informed choices and maintain independence wherever possible

About you

We are looking for a qualified and highly experienced social care professional who is passionate about safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for adults and their carers. To be successful, you must have substantial post-qualification experience within a statutory health or social care setting, ideally within a multidisciplinary environment, and a detailed understanding of the legislative and policy framework underpinning adult social care and safeguarding. You will have proven experience of managing and developing staff, identifying and managing risk and working in partnership with a range of agencies to deliver effective interventions. You must be able to communicate clearly and confidently, produce high-quality reports, manage competing priorities and use performance information to drive service improvements. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the relevant professional body is essential
