This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting work that helps keep our district safe, resilient and connected — from community safety and event planning to health and wellbeing and emergency preparedness. About the role You will provide vital administrative, coordination and project support across the team. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting multi-agency partnerships, including attending meetings, taking accurate notes and tracking actions Providing administrative support to the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), liaising with event organisers and partner agencies to ensure events are safe and well planned Reviewing event documentation such as risk assessments and event notifications Supporting the administration of the local Health and Wellbeing Board, including arranging meetings and managing funding processes Processing applications for temporary road closures linked to events Assisting with capital projects such as playground refurbishments by preparing documentation, updating plans and monitoring progress Who we’re looking for This role offers exposure to a wide variety of community services and is ideal for someone who enjoys coordination, problem-solving and working with people. We are looking for: Someone who has experience in a customer-facing or partnership support role Is confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, volunteers, partners and emergency services Is highly organised, methodical and able to manage competing priorities Has strong written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail Is comfortable interpreting information such as reports or risk assessments Can handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately Is committed to excellent customer service, equality, diversity and inclusion Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications What we offer When you join us your expertise, skills and experience will be valued, and your career development will be our priority. The current two-tier system where services are split between Surrey County Council and district or borough councils, will be replaced by two new unitary councils - East Surrey Council and West Surrey Council East Surrey Council will cover Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell, Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge District managing all local services, including housing, planning, waste, education, roads and social care. Although this may lead to some uncertainty for anyone considering a role with us, we need to continue to provide services. When the new councils are created in April 20027, most staff will transfer to the new council on their current terms and conditions. Being part of a larger organisation may offer additional opportunities for career development and variety.
