We’re looking for a dynamic individual to step into the role of
Digital Development Manager
for a 7-month fixed term period.
This is a great opportunity to lead our Digital Development Team and help drive forward our digital, data and automation work across the council.
About the role
In this role, you’ll:
Lead, support and develop the Digital Development Team, helping build capability and confidence across digital, data and emerging technologies.
Oversee digital transformation projects, system upgrades and service improvements across the organisation.
Make strong use of data and analytics to inform decision‑making, improve service delivery and support council priorities, including developing data models, improving data quality and strengthening our reporting and insight tools.
Work closely with services to understand user needs and translate them into effective digital solutions and improved processes.
Ensure our business systems are reliable, secure, well‑supported and compliant.
Evaluate, test and introduce AI and automation tools where they can add value, ensuring solutions are ethical, secure and aligned with organisational needs.
Provide advice on emerging technologies and help shape how we use them to modernise services.
Develop the team's readiness capabilities for Local Government Reorganisation.

Can confidently manage digital, data or technical projects
Builds strong working relationships across teams
Is comfortable exploring new technologies, including AI
Has a good understanding of how data can support service improvement
Leads with a positive, proactive mindset and a readiness to take initiative
