This role has a starting salary of £38,090 per annum, based on a 36 working week.
We are hiring two
Senior Technicians
to join our fast-paced User Experience team, providing hands-on IT support, resolving technical issues, and delivering hardware and software solutions to users across Surrey County Council.
You will be in the office 5 days a week alternating between our main offices in Reigate and Woking. You will get to travel to council offices all over Surrey and meet a diverse range of staff.

About the Team
Surrey County Council has a diverse range of customers with different IT requirements, skills, and accessibility needs. The User Experience team provides a quick response to urgent issues while still meeting targets and objectives for all our customers. Help and support is tailored to each customer regardless of their own IT skills and experience.
The role offers the opportunity to travel across Surrey, delivering software and hardware support to over 6000 staff members across 250 offices. The team is based in the office 5 days a week alternating between our main offices in Reigate and Woking.
About the Role
The roles main priority is to ensure users have a seamless and enjoyable experience while interacting with IT&D equipment and services. You’ll strive to understand the users needs, behaviours and preferences. Aim to restore functionality swiftly or provide suitable alternatives to minimise disruption.
Staff in this role are responsible for managing their own workload so its important they can prioritise, plan ahead and communicate with colleagues within the team. You’ll be required to monitor equipment levels and condition. Keep good records if kit that requires repair and what equipment is ready to deploy to users.
Our ITSM tool is the main source of our inbound work. The ideal candidate will be used to updating Service Requests with detailed notes which are seen by both customers and colleagues. The User Experience team deploy, swap, repair and dispose a lot of hardware. It is critical the CMDB is updated promptly with all relevant changes to devices. Senior Technicians will assist in regular stock checks and audits.
The roll provides out of hours telephone support to teams who require extended support. Due to the size of the team, this is approximately four-five times per year.
