We are hiring a Change Manager to join our Procurement team and play a key role in shaping the future of local government services across Surrey. The successful candidate is expected to have a good level of understanding of the implications of working within a public sector environment. Procurement is supporting Local Government Restructure (LGR) and there are many contracts that need to be transferred to our new unitary structures. The Procurement Team manages approximately £1.5bn of annual spend with external suppliers, procuring everything from software to social care services, cleaning products to highway maintenance. As a Change Manager, you will support and enable our move to a Future Surrey model – helping to facilitate the complex changes involved in moving from a two tier to a unitary local government model. You will work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders, gathering and managing data to enable a smooth transition to take place. Procurement plays a key role across Surrey County Council in terms of supporting how public money is spent well, and making sure that it is spent both in a compliant way as well as obtaining best value from it – e.g. reducing carbon emissions and adding social value.
