Here at Princess Alice, you’ll have the opportunity to make a satisfying, rewarding difference to the lives of our patients, their families and friends, and be supported every step of the way. This is a role that offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to use your clinical judgement in complex and often changing situations. You will assess, plan and deliver care to patients with palliative and end-of-life needs, providing both hands-on support during visits and clinical advice via telephone. You will also play an important role in supporting patients and those close to them during challenging times, responding with sensitivity, confidence and compassion. Excellent communication and telephone triage skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently within a community setting. The role also involves contributing to the ongoing development and evaluation of the service. Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential; as is a strong understanding of more generalist community-based nursing care.
