This is a practical, hands-on role responsible for assisting with the preparation, cooking and service of food to a high standard, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining strict food hygiene and health & safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals Support the day-to-day operation of the Community Wellbeing Kitchen Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance Monitor and complete food hygiene records in line with legislation Support stock control, minimise waste and assist with ordering Provide clear allergen and dietary information to customers Assist the Catering Hub Manager and deputise where required Support and guide staff and volunteers where necessary You will: Have experience working within a catering or hospitality environment Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable, or willingness to obtain) Have knowledge of food safety and health & safety practices Be able to work efficiently under pressure and to deadlines Demonstrate good communication and customer service skills Be a positive and flexible team player Benefits Local Government Pension Scheme Generous annual leave entitlement (pro rata) Training and development opportunities The opportunity to support vital community services For further information about the role, please contact Anita Chappell, Catering Hub Manager on achappell@epsom-ewell.gov.uk .
