Join Our Growing Regulatory Services Team About the Role You will have the opportunity to undertake diverse and interesting work while being actively supported in your career development. You will work within the multi-disciplinary Regulatory Services, which includes, all Environmental Health disciplines, Licensing, Emergency Planning and Neighbourhood Enforcement. On a typical day, you would: · inspect Houses in Multiple Occupation and licensed caravan parks, assess risks and secure compliance with the law and licensing conditions. · investigate complaints and enquiries relating to the private-rented sector, including allegations of illegal eviction. · assess hazards in line with HHRS guidance. · investigate and gather evidence to support: service of Civil Penalty Notices, tribunal hearings and/or legal proceedings. · support colleagues, sharing technical and legal knowledge and experience. · lead projects and be the Council’s subject expert. About You · You are a qualified Environmental Health Officer with extensive experience in Private Sector Housing enforcement. · You are self-motivated and enthusiastic, with strong organisational skills. · You have a sound understanding of the use of HHRS to assess hazards and deficiencies in domestic properties. · You approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset and determination to see cases through to a successful conclusion. · You, ideally, have experience in the escalation of enforcement action for non-compliance, including issuing of Civil Penalty Notices and undertaking investigations that may lead to prosecution.
