Estate caretaker – Scale 2
35 hours per week
An opportunity has arisen in Caretaking/Estate Services; we are looking to recruit 11 full time Estate Caretakers to work across the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The Estate Caretaker will report to a Caretaking Supervisor and will undertake a range of activities on a programmed or ad-hoc basis to ensure that the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Housing Estates are Safer, Cleaner and Greener. This could involve working alone, or in a team.
You must:
- Be able to work between the hours of 6:00am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday, as directed by Line Manager.
- Explicit willingness to work in a variety of locations within the borough and across a range of functions.
- Demonstrate your ability to work safely.
- Ability to pass on information regarding anti-social behaviour, report and assist with Fire Safety issues, report repairs and enviro-crime to the line manager.
- Ability to carry out duties as instructed, whether working alone or as part of a team.
- Aptitude to carry out a range of cleansing duties to help make the borough cleaner, greener, and safer.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous manner with service users (e.g., residents and visitors to the borough), as well as colleagues.
- Understand and commit to equal opportunities.
Note - Driving is not essential but would be desirable. You will need to have a clean driving licence to allow you to drive Council vehicles up to 3.5 Tonne.
