The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology & Wellbeing Service (EPWS) is seeking an ambitious and experienced Educational Psychologist (EP) to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Principal Educational Psychologist (DPEP).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a highly regarded service, supporting the strategic and operational leadership of EPWS and driving positive outcomes for children, young people and families across the borough. The post offers the opportunity to work closely with the Principal Educational Psychologist (PEP) in leading a large and diverse team, overseeing service delivery, workforce development, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

As DPEP, you will have a key role in ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the service, including oversight of statutory assessment activity, service performance, workforce planning, quality assurance and operational decision-making. You will line manage and clinically supervise colleagues, lead service development initiatives and support multi-agency working.

We are looking for a highly skilled EP with substantial leadership experience, a strong commitment to inclusion and anti-racist practice, and a track record of developing people, systems and services. You will be an excellent communicator, confident leading change and able to balance strategic priorities with operational demands.

At Royal Greenwich, EPs make a genuine difference. We are proud of our strong team culture, commitment to wellbeing, and focus on delivering high-quality psychological services across statutory, traded and early intervention work.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and collaborative senior leadership team.
  • Opportunities to influence strategic developments across SEND, inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
  • A strong commitment to anti-racist and culturally responsive practice.
  • Protected CPD and supervision.
  • Excellent administrative and business support.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • High-quality assessment resources and digital tools.
  • HCPC fee reimbursement and AEP membership support.
  • Excellent transport links, including the Elizabeth Line.

About You

You will:

  • Be a qualified HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist.
  • Have substantial leadership and management experience within an Educational Psychology Service.
  • Have experience supervising and developing staff and leading service improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong operational and organisational leadership skills.
  • Be committed to inclusion, equity, anti-racist practice and improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Be able to deputise confidently for the PEP when required.

This post would suit an experienced Senior EP seeking their next leadership challenge or an existing DPEP looking to join a forward-thinking and ambitious service.

This newly established role has been created to meet a long-term strategic need, and it is anticipated that the post will become permanent following the initial fixed-term period, subject to service requirements and organisational approval.
