Job Introduction

Assistant Psychology Support Officer (AsstPSO)

The Royal Greenwich Educational Psychology and Wellbeing Service (EPWS) is part of the Inclusion, Learning and Achievement Division of the Children’s Services Directorate. It provides statutory and traded services to Royal Greenwich Children’s Services, schools, and other settings to help improve the outcomes for children and young people, aged 0-25 years, experiencing difficulties in their learning and social and emotional development.

The EPWS is going through an exciting time of growth and reorganisation as demand for our service increases and changes to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities legislation and we are therefore seeking an Assistant to support our Psychology Support Officer in the performance of her duties supporting a team of thirty-five staff.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in an administrative role, who is eager to learn, and is driven and self-motivated to deliver high quality work for a truly unique and exciting London borough.

Working closely with the Psychology Support Officer, senior EPs and the wider team, you will book assessment visits, gather consent and background information, support the allocation of cases, maintain the service's case tracking systems and administer traded work. You will also undertake administrative procedures and systems, using office equipment and software, including a service database.  You will also undertake a range of general administrative duties including scanning, filing, photocopying, etc. You will deal with colleagues, parents, students and professionals contacting the office, recording and passing on messages.  You will ensure the confidentiality of records and information. You will attend and participate in team meetings, supervision and Professional Development Conversations (PDCs).

You will be based in The Woolwich Centre in the heart of the borough, with excellent transport links including the Elizabeth Line.
