As a Senior Housing Allocations Officer, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Housing Allocations Team to administer the Council’s Housing Register, including the allocation of accommodation within the Council’s own stock and nominations to partner registered providers, in accordance with the Housing Allocations Scheme under the support and guidance of the Housing Allocations & Voids Manager.
Potential candidates are likely to have a background in Housing Allocations and can demonstrate experience in handling housing register applications.
Interviews are going to be held in person, week commencing 28 July 2026.

About you

Experience in making decisions in accordance with council policy.
HNC/HND or equivalent (or working towards) in Housing.
Experience of dealing with difficult customers.
Experience of dealing with vulnerable customers with complex difficulties.
Ability to communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
Excellent IT skills and experience of using a range of packages.
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of MRI and Huume housing systems would be advantageous.
