The role
Are you looking for your next career move? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Revenues and Benefits Manager to lead our Revenues and Benefits team.
We are seeking a Revenues & Benefits Manager to lead our high-performing Revenues and Benefits service.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you will provide strong leadership and management across the Revenues and Benefits teams, ensuring the delivery of key statutory services including Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction.
This is a pivotal management role, where you will drive service improvement, champion innovation and ensure services are delivered efficiently, effectively and in line with legislative requirements.
Key responsibilities
To lead and manage the teams to high performance standards and ensuring excellent service delivery
Oversee administration of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction schemes
This role requires you to drive continuous improvement through innovation, performance management and service redesign.
You will need to work collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners including DWP and other agencies.

You will have:
Significant experience of working in a Revenues & Benefits environment at management level for over 5 years
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and manage staff performance effectively
In-depth knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates and/or Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction legislation
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders, Members and customers
Experience of managing performance, analysing data and driving service improvement
A strong understanding of local government and public sector environments
Strong level of basic education (including English and Maths) or an NVQ level 3 in a related field and/or 2 years qualitative experience
