Role – Team Leader (Justice Services)
Location – GCHSCP, Justice Services, South and North East Localities
Contract Status – Permanent and Temporary up to 12 months

We have a large range of services that require to work effectively together, we work in full partnership with our health colleagues and a broad range of stakeholders and we have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care across both service areas and promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports.
Team Leaders within Justice Services have a key role in the delivery of the Justice Statutory Social Work function. They have direct line management responsibility for Qualified Social Work and Social Care staff and the allocation and supervision of Throughcare licenses, Supervised Release Orders and Community Payback Orders. The posts involve risk management and planning around those who are involved in persistent and/or high-risk offending, some who fall under MAPPA processes.
You will work closely with a broad range of partners within Justice Services including Police Scotland, Court, Health and voluntary services with the aim of being able to promote and engage service users in effective offence focused work, preventative and recovery supports and early interventions to reduce the risk of re-offending.
We are seeking energetic, talented, resilient and committed Team Leaders to secure these outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and risk management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; work with a person-centred manner and trauma informed approach, which will be fully embedded in your practice. You will be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community.
One Team Leader role will also have responsibility for setting up a Women’s Community Payback Order Sub-Team in South Justice and will require a keen interest in the area of women within the Justice System.
Applicants must either possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent). Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. If you hold a non UK qualification you must be registered before applying for this post. If you hold a UK qualification you must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
