Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Group Manager to lead our Fleet Operations team.

We’re looking for someone who has significant experience in fleet, transport, engineering or operational management, with a proven track record of leading large teams, managing complex operations and delivering high-quality customer-focused services. Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to balance strategic objectives with operational delivery.

Position Details

Reporting to the Head of Service for Fleet Asset Management you will lead fleet maintenance, workshop operations, passenger transport and operational support services, ensuring compliance with Operator Licence requirements, transport legislation and industry best practice. You will drive continuous improvement, manage performance and resources, and support the delivery of fleet modernisation and decarbonisation programmes.

Applicants must have good collaboration skills to develop and maintain effective partnership working and should be skilled in improving performance and achieving excellence. Applicants should have the ability to plan and projects manage work at a strategic level and be able to lead, manage and motivate professional teams and wider employee groups. You should be able to design and implement effective monitoring, review and control systems.

Applicants should have a degree in Business Management or equivalent or equivalent demonstrable experience and a full, current driving licence.

Contract Details

Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, hybrid work pattern.

Annual Salary: £69,283.18 - £80,327.20 on an incremental scale
