Location – GCHSCP, Justice Services, 80 Norfolk Street, Glasgow, G5 9EJ
Contract Status – Permanent
Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sex Offender Liaison Officer (SOLO) to work within the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership’s (GCHSCP) Justice Service.
Housing arrangements and effective monitoring make a key contribution to minimising the risks posed by Register Sex Offenders (RSOs). As a SOLO, you will play an integral role, within the wider team, in ensuring the safety of the community by supporting the reintegration of offenders into society, with a specific focus on the resettlement of RSOs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating communication and collaboration between various agencies, including RSLs and Police Scotland, to manage and monitor registered sex offenders living within the City of Glasgow.
You will represent Justice and Homelessness Services at Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPAs), Community Justice Authority (CJA) meetings and other established multi-agency groups. Furthermore, you will develop and co-ordinate agreements with all Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) in Glasgow including the Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) and Memorandum Of Understanding which sets out the operation of agreed referral processes.
You should have excellent assessment and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing work priorities, as well as experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of partners.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
