Job Description
4 year apprenticeship as a Support Service School Technician (Technical), undertaking a wide range of duties within Technical, Science, and Digital Technology.
Studying towards an HNC in Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow Clyde College. Block release at East Kilbride & District Engineering Group Training Association Ltd (EKGTA) working towards SVQ qualification.
Duties will include the provision of technical support required to support teaching and learning, including the safe use and maintenance of fixed Machinery & Equipment, safe storage and servicing of general school equipment and chemicals with due regard to Health & Safety procedures.
Some elements of the Science and Digital Technology content of a School Support Service Technicians duties will be covered via Technician Support Service Progression courses and in-house training during the 4 year apprenticeship
Additional in-house training will be provided via the Technician Support Service - Technician Progression Scheme and the Scottish Schools Educational Research Centre Technician CPD Training Scheme courses. Completion of Technician Passport during the 4 year apprenticeship.
