Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Environmental Health Officer to be based within the Business Regulation and Public Health teams.
You will work independently to contribute to the delivery of the Environmental Health service within Glasgow, as well as receiving training and guidance to fulfil the 48 weeks of professional practice required ahead of sitting the professional examination for the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health.
• You must currently be in your Third Year Placement of the BSc Environmental Health with Professional Practice at the University of the West of Scotland
or
• You must have completed a REHIS accredited BSc or MSc in Environmental Health
or
• You must hold a BSc in a science related subject and have completed a REHIS Alternative Route Assessment to confirm that you meet the requirements to be registered as a graduate trainee EHO (written confirmation will be required from REHIS that you are eligible to register as a graduate trainee EHO and progress towards the Diploma in Environmental Health).
A flexible approach to working, IT skills and a working knowledge of the role of an Environmental Health Officer within a local authority setting are essential.

This post is temporary for a period up to 48 weeks.
