Location: Glasgow
We are looking for a highly motivated Project Officer to support the delivery of Glasgow’s Energy Optimisation Programme and wider Asset Management objectives.
This is a role combining strong energy analytical skills with project management, providing a unique opportunity to shape the Council’s journey toward improved building energy performance and carbon reduction.
About the Role
You will:
• Analyse building energy performance, identify inefficiencies, and support optimisation and carbon reduction interventions.
• Produce high quality technical reports, briefings, dashboards and performance summaries.
• Track and coordinate programme activity, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Support stakeholder engagement across the Council family, contractors, and external partners.
• Contribute to business cases for optimisation, heat decarbonisation and retrofit projects.
• Ensure programme documentation, governance, and reporting remain accurate and up to date.
About You
You will bring:
• A relevant degree (engineering/ physical sciences/ environment/ energy) or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of BEMS, HVAC systems, and energy modelling tools (e.g., IESVE/iSCAN).
• Strong analytical skills, with experience managing energy, building performance or technical datasets.
• Excellent organisational ability, with experience coordinating projects or programmes.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical findings.
• Confidence working independently and in multi disciplinary teams.
• Strong IT capability (Excel, reporting tools, energy/optimisation software desirable).
Desirable
• Experience in public sector energy or estates programmes.
• Project/programme management qualifications (PRINCE2, APM, MSP).
