Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to the post of Assistant Chief Officer (Care Services). This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Depute Chief Officer – Operations and Governance / Chief Social Work Officer, with responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of Operational and Technical Care, Home Care and Older People’s Residential and Day Care Services.

The successful candidate will provide vision, leadership and operational oversight for a wide portfolio of Care Services and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that meet the strategic objectives of the HSCP and comply with national standards and statutory responsibilities.

This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can drive forward transformational change, develop and implement commissioning and workforce strategies, and lead service redesign and integration. The postholder will represent the HSCP at local, regional and national levels, and will play a key role in shaping policy, contributing to capital planning, and engaging with the Scottish Government on matters relating to adult services.

Applicants must be educated to Master’s level in a relevant field and possess extensive senior leadership experience within the NHS, Social Work Services, Local Government or a comparable public or third sector organisation. A proven track record of strategic planning, service transformation, and partnership working is essential, along with a deep understanding of the legislative and policy context for health and social care in Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals, families and communities across Glasgow, supporting the HSCP’s vision of enabling people to live healthier, more fulfilled lives within resilient communities.

This is an integrated position as part of the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership.
