An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Technician to join our Lighting team on a permanent basis.

Position Details
You will be an operational team member responsible for the development; installation; maintenance and monitoring of the City’s Street Lighting Network to meet service targets and enforce compliance with electrical regulations & technical standards. The post will also require the flexibility to assist Lighting projects and other Service streams to transform Glasgow City Council’s Street lighting estate, investing in LED technology/infrastructure to develop a safe, reliable energy efficient lighting network.
A current driving licence and the following qualification is an essential requirement for this role:
- Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent; or
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering demonstrating qualifying criteria for Technician Electrician or Approved Electrician status
Additionally, you must have a BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition and a valid Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card supported with Health and Safety Assessment Certificate, or the ability to achieve these within 1 year of appointment.
You should also have a sound working knowledge of current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards and Codes of Practice to electrical distribution and be able to support budgetary control and monitor performance against targets.

Contract Details
Weekly Hours: 35 per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Annual Salary: £36,319.27 - £42,291.40 on an incremental scale
