Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting an Operations Administration Assistant on a part-time, temporary basis until end June 2026, with a view to extend.
Due to the nature of these roles, the successful candidates will be required to work on-site only.
Locations: Causeway House & Lakes Industrial Park
Working Hours: 09:00-14:30
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday
The Opportunity:
To work in the Operations Service providing administrative support to relevant service areas and to act as the point of contact for stakeholder offering advice and assistance whilst always providing a professional and courteous service.
Role Accountabilities:
- Be responsible for collating and understanding data and present to Management in a suitable style.
- Respond to all customers in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner, ensuring that queries are responded to in a timely manner.
- General Administration duties, including telephone, E-Mail, minute taking, typing, and filing for Operations.
- Provide administrative support for all the teams within Operations by providing information/advice (either verbally or in writing).
- Develop and maintain various departmental information systems, e.g. databases, spreadsheets, ensuring that up-to-date information is recorded and retrieved.
- Where requested, prepare relevant paperwork and reports, maintaining accuracy and ensuring that deadlines are met on all software systems.
- Provide support to any other tasks as required by your Line Manager.

The Experience You Will Bring:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Able to multitask and work on different tasks at the same time
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products & CRM systems
- Local government experience (Desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong IT/Microsoft office skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Pro-active approach taking responsibility for day-to-day tasks, workload and priorities
- Good organisational skills
- Flexible approach to work
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload and work to tight deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same
