Join Our Disability Inclusion Team as a Community Activity Leader (SEND)

Are you passionate about helping children and young people thrive?

We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic individuals to join our Disability Inclusion Team on a casual basis and help us deliver inclusive, engaging activities across Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford.

This is a flexible role that can fit around your existing commitments.

Whether you're available during term time, school holidays, evenings, weekends, or just occasionally, we'd love to hear from you. You don't need to be available across all districts, and we welcome applications from people with a range of skills and interests.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as those who have an understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive approaches.

What You'll Be Doing

You could be supporting or leading a wide range of activities, including:

  • Sports and physical activities
  • Arts and crafts sessions
  • After-school clubs and holiday programmes
  • Day trips and community events
  • Wellbeing and social activities

The role is all about creating safe, welcoming and enjoyable experiences where every child and young person feels valued and included.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in somebody who:

  • Has experience working with children, young people or community groups
  • Understands, or are willing to learn about, SEND and neurodiversity
  • Are positive, approachable and enjoy working with people
  • Have skills or interests they can share, whether that's sport, arts, culture, crafts, wellbeing activities or something else entirely
  • Can travel to activities within Epping Forest, Harlow and/or Uttlesford, depending on their availability

Whether your interests are in sport, arts, crafts or community activities, we're looking for people who can help create fun, inclusive experiences for everyone.

You'll be part of a supportive team helping to make a real difference to children, young people and families across our communities.

Please let us know your availability and the areas you are able to work in when you apply.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role then please contact Wendy Cockbill, Economic Development, Health and Inclusion Team Manager on 07548 145654.

If we receive a high volume of applications, we may close the advert early.
