We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Delivery Support Lead to join our Portfolio Management team and play a key role in supporting the Council's ambitious transformation and improvement agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Portfolio Management Office (PMO), supporting projects, programmes, service planning, performance management, and governance across the organisation.

About the Role

As the Delivery Support Lead, you will provide high-quality project and programme support across the Council, ensuring robust governance, effective planning, and successful delivery of organisational priorities.

Working closely with project managers, service managers, and senior leaders, you will support the monitoring of project progress, benefits realisation, risks and issues, and performance measures.

You will also play a key role in developing and maintaining the Council's project delivery framework, supporting colleagues to adopt consistent approaches and improving overall project maturity across the organisation.

Alongside project delivery support, you will lead the coordination of service planning activities, produce insightful performance reports, and help services use data and performance information to drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the delivery of corporate and service projects through effective project governance and administration.
  • Monitoring project milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, actions, and benefits through RAID management.
  • Producing high-quality project reports, dashboards, presentations, and performance reports for a range of governance forums.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of project plans and delivery schedules.
  • Leading quality assurance activities for project documentation and providing constructive challenge where required.
  • Coordinating service planning activities to ensure alignment with corporate priorities and objectives.
  • Monitoring and analysing service and corporate KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues in the use of project management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
  • Developing and maintaining project templates, guidance materials, and resources that contribute to a PMO Centre of Excellence.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to managers and teams, providing delivery assurance, performance insight, and practical support.

About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, and passionate about helping others succeed.

You will have:

  • Experience supporting projects, programmes, or PMO functions within a complex organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience producing reports, dashboards, presentations, and performance information.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, and reporting processes.
  • Experience monitoring and analysing performance data and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and ensure high standards of quality and governance.
  • Experience developing processes, templates, guidance, or improvement initiatives.
  • The ability to coach and support colleagues in adopting new tools, frameworks, and ways of working.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
