Education Child Protection Practitioner
London Borough of Enfield
Join Enfield’s Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT)
Enfield are looking to recruit two experienced Education Child Protection Practitioners to join our newly formed MACPT.
MACPT Education Child Protection Practitioner Full-Time Salary Range Salary Range £57,375 - £72,777
The post holders must have qualified teacher status and have significant experience of working within an educational setting to protect children at risk of abuse inside or outside of the home.
Enfield’s vision is to establish a MACPT that is child-centred, compassionate, evidence-informed and closely aligned with Family Help, Child in Care and Care Leavers Services, ensuring families experience a seamless safeguarding response rather than fragmented intervention.
The Education Child Protection Practitioners will be based in the MACPT, co-located with multi-agency partners including health, police and children’s social care, ensuring education safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in line with relevant statutory guidance (including Working Together to Safeguard Children (March 2026) and Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2025) and the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026)).
This is a high-impact role at the interface of education and statutory safeguarding. Working within the MACPT, the post holders will provide authoritative education input to child protection decision-making, strengthen partnership working between education settings and partner agencies including Children’s Social Care, and help ensure the right response at the right time for children at risk of significant harm.
The Education Child Protection Practitioners will be accountable to the MACPT Service Managers and Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance for their day-to-day operational activities and directly line managed by the Assistant Headteacher of the Enfield Virtual School.
The post holders provide consultation, advice and guidance to education providers, and other partners across the borough when a child comes to the attention of MACPT. They will liaise with senior education leaders and Designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure that statutory duties are met and proportionate recognition is given to the additional protective factors that education provides. The roles promote effective partnership working through timely information sharing, appropriate professional challenge and active engagement in child protection processes.
