The role

An officer member within the Property Assets team and reporting directly to the Principal Design Services Officer (Corporate). The Project Surveyor will play a crucial role in supporting the design team, which will require their most technical building knowledge. This will involve working across a variety of corporate buildings with their own set of unique challenges providing a dynamic working environment.

This will require them to play lead roles and work collaboratively with other officers on a variety of complex capital and special revenue building projects that meets the Councils corporate plan, maintenance, and compliance requirements.

Project Surveyor - What are we looking for?

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (desirable).

Membership to a relevant body (desirable).

Proven ability in project and contract management, design work and construction detailing.

Efficient in AutoCAD design to support each project where necessary.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and budgets within project deadlines

Demonstrable ability of managing, motivating and inspiring staff, focussing on successful outcomes and providing support to the team

The character and ability to work under pressure and deliver challenging targets, able to find solutions to complex problems.

Experience of working in the public sector (desirable).
