The role and responsibilities:  

You will be responsible for managing the accommodation used to house homeless families. You will take an expert housing management role across the Council’s own stock of interim accommodation including responsibility for income collection, arrears, anti-social behaviour management, tenancy sustainment and legal action for possession. 

Who are we looking for?  

You’ll be someone who can demonstrate: 

  • Good customer care and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your workload and use your initiative 
  • The ability to build excellent relationships and working partnerships both in the Council and externally with partner organisations 
  • IT literacy 
  • A good understanding of housing and tenancy law 

Ideally you’ll have English and Maths Grade C or above, GCSE 4-9 or equivalent and if you have an understanding of the welfare benefit system, that would be a bonus. 

Due to the nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undertake a basic DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances. 

You will need a current full driving licence effective in the UK and use of a motor vehicle for business use, or the ability to get to locations in a timely manner equivalent to motor travel in your own vehicle.
