The Role & Responsibilities:
The Licensing Team processes a vast array of licences including pubs, taxis, zoos, tattooists, animal activities etc.
We are looking for a Licensing Officer to ensure the council fulfils its duties in the administration of the licensing functions.
Duties include managing the licensing inbox and phone lines, dealing with complainants, inspecting licensed vehicles, monitoring compliance of licensed premises, monitoring renewals to ensure that all licences are issued in a timely fashion, collecting fees and ensure they are correctly reconciled. The job also involves dealing with complainants to gather information, and attending court where necessary.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a high-pressure environment and the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. The successful applicant will have strong organisational skills, enabling them to effectively prioritise their workload while remaining flexible and responsive to changing service demands and priorities.
It is important in this small team, that the postholder can work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and contribute positively to a support a team environment. It is essential in this role to have the ability to manage difficult or confrontational situations in a professional and composed manner.
Essential criteria
Significant experience in an Administrative role
Experience of dealing with members of the public in difficult/confrontational situations
