The Role & Responsibilities 

The Visitor Services team is the shop window to White Cliffs Country, responsible for providing a frontline welcome and information service to visitors, including cruise ship passengers, and to the district’s residents. 

Working across three key locations – the Visitor Information Centre at Dover Museum, the cruise terminal and the Roman Painted House – we: 

  • Deliver a high-quality information service to visitors and residents alike  
  • Promote businesses, events, and activities within White Cliffs Country 
  • Generate income through service provision, retail and agency sales 
  • Ensure the safety and security of the museum’s buildings and collection 
  • Welcome visitors to, and provide information about Dover Museum and the Roman Painted House 
  • Assist schools and groups attending workshops and activities  

Who We Are Looking For 

Are you passionate about all the Dover district has to offer and keen to share your enthusiasm and knowledge? 

Working within the Visitor Services team, you’ll be familiar with the district’s tourist attractions, have an interest in local history and excellent communication skills, including a high standard of written and spoken English and competence in MS Office programmes.  

We’re looking for someone with retail and customer service experience, self-motivated and able to prioritise jobs when working unsupervised. Confidence speaking to individuals and groups, including school pupils, is essential.  

This is a casual role to cover shifts according to the varying needs of the business, so flexibility is expected. Weekend working and occasional early starts and evenings are required.
