The Role & Responsibilities:
Dover District Council are committed to delivering an excellent customer focused, housing management service. To help us achieve this, we are looking to recruit a dynamic, skilled and high performing individual who shares our commitment to delivering excellence across the housing sector. You will be expected to be part of a team providing and managing delivery of a comprehensive housing management service for Dover District Council tenants.
You will be expected to deliver a pro-active, customer-focused estate service that works alongside Housing colleagues and with external partners to ensure our estates are managed and maintained to a high standard, and excellent customer service is provided to tenants.
You will manage a patch of properties, and you should have working knowledge of social housing, anti-social behaviour related legislation and best practice.
Following changes to enhance and improve our delivery of Housing Management in the district we are expanding our Housing Management team.
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience of housing management or allocations within a local authority or similar environment.
- Good understanding of housing and tenancy law
- Experience within a housing related or similar organisation
- Experience of planning and implementing change
- Experience of working with a range of partners, including communities, to develop new and different ways of working.

- GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above (Grades 4-9 or equivalent). Degrees are welcome.
- Housing Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Housing, Level 3 (Desirable)
- Excellent IT skills including word, outlook, excel, teams.
- Good negotiation skills
- The ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with stakeholders
- An ability to communicate effectively with residents, senior officers and external organisations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to persuade and influence others
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
- Ability to understand the needs and perceptions of customers and to handle situations sensitively

Due to the nature of the role you will have the ability to work flexibly, and will require a current full driving license effective in the UK and use of a motor vehicle for business use.
Due to the nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.
You will be expected to report any concerns relating to the safeguarding of children, young people or vulnerable adults in accordance with agreed procedures.
