Creative Health Coordinator

Salary range: Grade 6 £35,520 - £36,585 p.a. plus fantastic benefits

The London Borough of Croydon is looking for a dynamic Creative Health Coordinator to join the Creative Health team in supporting the delivery of high-quality arts and cultural opportunities that improve the health and wellbeing of Croydon residents at risk of health inequalities. From visual arts workshops helping young people explore their emotions to multi-art activities keeping people with dementia and their carers active, we know Creative Health can promote positive health and wellbeing, prevent the onset of illness, and support the management of conditions for us all. Working closely with the Public Health team, the Creative Health team supports local artists and organisations to expand delivery of this crucial work through four main strands:
- Creative Health Network – providing networking opportunities, free training, fundraising support and strategic oversight to 170+ individuals and organisations interested in Creative Health in Croydon
- Community Grants – delivering grant schemes to provide seed-funding to support local Creative Health events and projects
- Targeted Interventions – managing the development of new Creative Health interventions tackling complex local priorities with cross-sector stakeholders
- Advocating for the Sector – linking with Health, Social Care and other partners to increase support, uptake and alignment of Creative Health initiatives with the broadest range of stakeholders

The Creative Health Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and event management support for the Programme, with tasks including:
- Maintaining accurate records, registers, schedules, budgets and other documentation for Programme activities
- Ensuring Programme activities have all necessary resources (materials, refreshments, artists) and documentation (risk assessments, venue plans, Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures)
- Supporting safe delivery of creative health events, working closely with artists, facilitators, participants and general public audiences
- Administrating the Creative Health Network, liaising with members, managing quarterly meetings, monthly newsletters, a year-round free training programme and strategic ‘working groups’
- Supporting community grant programmes, including encouraging individuals and organisations interested in applying, assessing applications and producing award letters
- With support from the Creative Health Programme Manager, supporting the management of Targeted Interventions, helping to coordinate the development of new interventions to support local priorities
This role is required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check against the Child and Adult workforces, and the Child Barred List.
