Capital Works Delivery Manager

Lead Croydon’s Capital Delivery Team to deliver safe, high-quality homes and estates.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Capital Works Delivery Manager to provide strategic leadership to Croydon’s construction and surveying teams. This is a pivotal role in delivering major repairs, building improvements, and cyclical maintenance programmes that directly impact the safety, quality, and sustainability of our housing stock.

About the role

Lead and manage the Capital Delivery Team, including surveyors, project managers, assistant project managers and clerks of works.
Deliver a customer-focused programme of major repairs, improvements, and cyclical works across Croydon’s housing stock.
Oversee the planning, procurement, and contract management of capital projects (£25m plus).
Ensure works comply with statutory processes, safety regulations, and council policies.
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across construction and surveying services.

About you

Professional qualification in building construction management/RICS or CIOB (e.g. Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent).
Strong leadership and management experience in housing construction or capital works.
Proven experience in contract management, budget monitoring, and project delivery at scale.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with residents, contractors, and stakeholders.
Strong financial awareness with the ability to deliver value for money and identify efficiencies.
A proactive, solution-focused leader who can drive performance and manage change.
