Salary range: Grade 2 £29,562 - £30,408 p.a. plus fantastic benefits

Hours of work: 18 hours per week
Location: Croydon
Job title: Library Assistant – (3 part-time, permanent posts, 18 hours per week)
Working Pattern:
The post will have a set working pattern working full days and will include alternate Saturdays. Libraries are currently open 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday.
Location: This is a frontline role in libraries and will include some outreach activities.
We are looking for staff to work
Role 1: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & alternate Saturdays
Role 2: Mondays, Thursdays & alternate Saturdays
Role 3: Tuesdays, Fridays & alternate Saturdays
All staff will be required travel to any of Croydon’s libraries.

As a Library Assistant, you will be one of the first points of contact for customers, helping them access library services, technology, information and community activities. You will contribute to creating welcoming, inclusive and vibrant library spaces that meet the needs of Croydon's diverse communities.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to contribute positively as part of a team
- An interest in libraries including understanding the wider role libraries play in supporting communities, wellbeing, learning, culture and inclusion.
- Genuine enthusiasm for engaging with customers of all ages
- Good digital skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, online systems and library management systems
