We are looking for SIA-licensed door supervisors to join us as casual Hallkeepers at Colchester’s historic Town Hall. 

Duties of the role 

The venue hosts a wide range of functions, weddings, committee meetings and other events. You will be providing friendly security checks and searches, often in the evening but day and weekend shifts are available. You might be asked to manage the entrance, guard a committee meeting or set up a function room. Our elections can be dynamic, physical occasions, when we would value your skills. Occasionally you might have the option to work at another venue or be part of Remembrance Sunday or an Oyster Feast! 

This is a role which includes the handling and movement of items around the premises. This may include lifting and carrying items between floors, including via stairs. We are committed to considering reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants and employees. 

Qualifications and skills required  

It is essential that you hold a current SIA door supervisor badge and ideally will have some experience in the security or events sector. If you are also calm and friendly you will be perfect for this role. 

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) carries out a Standard DBS check every 3 years as part of the licencing process.
