Compliance and Quality Assurance Lead

Salary: £45,650 - £50,860 per annum inclusive of London Weighting 

Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week 

Hours of Work/Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Basis:  Full -Time, Fixed term for 2 years

The City of London’s Housing Service is committed to maintaining high standards across its housing estates. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Compliance and Quality Assurance Lead to oversee the delivery of compliance and service standards inspections and help ensure our estates remain safe, secure and well managed.  

You will lead and support a team of two Compliance and Quality Assurance Officers, coordinating the inspection programme across all estates and ensuring inspections are completed thoroughly, accurately and within required timescales. You will allocate work, balance competing priorities, provide training and coaching, and quality assure inspection reports before they are issued.  

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will carry out estate and block inspections within an allocated area and provide support across other areas when required. You will produce clear reports, raise and assign actions relating to service standards, fire safety, hazards, antisocial behaviour and housing management, and monitor performance against agreed key performance indicators. You will also identify emerging issues, coordinate corrective action and refer safeguarding or resident welfare concerns promptly to the appropriate team.  

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of managing or supervising staff in social housing, local government or a similar environment. You will have knowledge of relevant estate services legislation and requirements, including health and safety, fire safety in communal areas and COSHH, together with experience of risk management, risk assessments and thorough estate inspections. Strong written and verbal communication, organisation and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to work flexibly, use your initiative and communicate effectively at all levels.  

A relevant qualification, such as BICSc, IOSH or CIH, or substantial equivalent professional experience, is required. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and involves regular work across housing estates, including extended periods of walking.
