About the Role

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher for our Virtual School.

We work with children from birth to 25, with their families, social workers, schools and colleges, to ensure they receive the best educational experiences and opportunities possible.

  • Working flexibly between and across Children and Adult services to promote and secure education for all our young people.
  • Supporting older learners into college and work, and actively seeking solutions to support young people who are not in education, employment or training.
  • Project work that engages children and young people in learning.
  • Record keeping and data collection including the use of ASSET, Mosaic, Caring Life and City IT systems.
  • Ordering and delivering of resources and securing tuition packages.
  • Supervision of apprentices.

About You

 We’re looking for someone with:

  • A teaching qualification with significant school and/or college experience.
  • The ability to work between education, social care, health and community teams to secure outstanding education for our children and young people.
  • Experience of supporting young people into college and work.
  • Record keeping, data management and IT skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and kindness.

Because our roles are so varied, we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ policy for workplace attendance. How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.

For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.

We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
