About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Policy and Innovation Adviser to join our Sustainable Finance team, supporting the adoption of sustainable finance across the UK FPS sector.
In this role, you’ll provide technical and project management expertise to key programmes which drive the policies and promotional activities to accelerate London and the UK as the leading global financial centre for Sustainable Finance. You’ll work closely with partners across industry, government and the sustainable finance ecosystem to remove barriers to growth, accelerate collaboration, and promote both London and the UK as a leader in sustainable finance.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Overseeing the creation of policy innovation and market development content aligning to the three sustainable finance innovation objectives: Energy Security, Economic Efficiency and Environmental Resilience.
- Developing new policy interventions and market opportunities, as required by identifying emerging trends in sustainable finance that will shape UK financial services and have the potential to scale.
- Deliver strategic communications for sustainable finance innovation projects and initiatives
- Producing high‑quality research, reports and briefings for senior stakeholders
- Representing the City of London Corporation externally at events, panels and stakeholder meetings.
- Identify opportunities to highlight and export the UK sustainable finance offer.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience of working in financial industry including but not limited to banking, investment management, insurance and capital markets
- Significant experience of how policy issues affect businesses and of translating these into successful strategies and action plans to develop commercial opportunities to include sustainable finance.
- Significant experience working and leading on financial and professional services policy development, including sustainable finance
- Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, with experience briefing senior stakeholders.
- Confidence building and maintaining relationships across business, government and regulators.
- The ability to influence and collaborate in complex policy and organisational environments.
- Degree‑level education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
