The City of London Corporation is at the heart of the UK’s global financial and professional services (FPS) ecosystem. As technology and innovation reshape the sector, we work with industry, government and regulators to ensure the UK remains a worldleading centre for FPS innovation.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Policy and Innovation Adviser to join our Tech & Innovation team on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover, supporting the adoption of emerging technologies across the UK FPS sector.

In this role, you’ll help drive innovation in areas such as fintech, AI and cyber, contributing to existing programmes and leading the development of new, highimpact projects. You’ll work closely with partners across industry, government and the innovation ecosystem to remove barriers to growth, accelerate collaboration, and promote UK innovation both domestically and internationally.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and delivering innovation projects that enhance the UK’s position as a global FPS innovation centre.

  • Developing and managing partnerships across FPS, tech, government and regulators.

  • Providing expert policy insight on FPS technology including fintech, AI and cyber.

  • Producing highquality research, reports and briefings for senior stakeholders

  • Representing the City of London Corporation externally at events, panels and stakeholder meetings.

  • Contributing to team strategy and identifying opportunities for new innovation initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience working in the UK tech sector (particularly fintech, AI or cyber) or UK financial and professional services.

  • A strong track record of delivering complex projects and managing multiple workstreams.

  • Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, with experience briefing senior stakeholders.

  • Confidence building and maintaining relationships across business, government and regulators.

  • The ability to influence and collaborate in complex policy and organisational environments.

  • Degreelevel education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.

What do we offer?

  • Competitive salary with annual reviews.

  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (employer contribution currently 21%).

  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with service.

  • Learning and development opportunities including professional study support.

  • Employee benefits, volunteering opportunities, and staff discounts.

It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.
