We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of major capital and refurbishment programmes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and value. In this pivotal position, you will act as the senior representative for City Schools for all projects in the portfolio. You will manage consultants and contractors, drive performance, and intervene decisively when delays or issues arise and work closely with colleagues in City Surveyors Department and Chamberlains. You will oversee project budgets, certify payments, and ensure compliance with all corporate, financial, and -statutory requirements and lead on complex stakeholder engagement, ensuring that all appropriate inputs are captured and inform project scope.

 

You will also play a key strategic role:

 

- Presenting project updates and recommendations to committees, sponsors, and external bodies.

- Providing advice to the Director of Operations and Estates and the Head Teachers on Project progress, risks and issues.

- Developing and championing project management best practice and tools and owning the management of City Schools Portfolio on Cora and presenting on project progress at City Schools Portfolio Board.

- Leading risk and opportunity management.

- Resolving complex technical challenges and mediating disputes.

- Acting as contract administrator where required.

 

This is a role for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys solving complex problems, and can confidently represent the organisation at senior levels.

 

This will be a 18 month secondment opportunity.
