Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre is a major sporting venue with first class indoor and outdoor athletics facilities. It provides significant opportunities for elite athletes as well as the local community. As part of Chelmsford City Council’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality health and fitness facilities, the Gym at the centre has recently undergone a refurbishment which has involved the expansion of the main gym to include a designated free weight zone, functional training area and exciting new equipment.

We are looking for an individual with an engaging personality and a natural ability to build strong relationships to join our gym team. The successful applicant will work alongside our team of gym instructors delivering the high level of customer service our users expect whilst conducting inductions and assessments and supporting our members to achieve their fitness goals. The applicant must have excellent interpersonal and customer care skills and a high level of enthusiasm and must be qualified to a Level 3 diploma in Personal Training. In addition, the successful candidate will need to hold Group Exercise Class qualifications. Duties will include personal fitness programmes, fitness assessments, retention, delivering group exercise classes as per your qualifications and the day-to-day operations of the gym floor.

The position is offered on a part time basis working two evenings a week and one weekend shift. Additional hours may be available to cover the opening hours of the gym, from 7am to 10.00pm, including weekends and bank holidays.
