About this Corporate Case Services Officer (Civic) role
This role supports the smooth delivery of civic engagements, ceremonial events and official functions involving the Lord Mayor and Sheriff, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and civic protocol are maintained.
Here's what you'll get up to:
- Coordinate attendance arrangements for the civic team at events, liaising with organisers and ensuring all civic protocols are followed.
- Brief the Lord Mayor, Sheriff and their escorts on event requirements, background information and speech arrangements.
- Support the planning and delivery of civic receptions, events and functions hosted by the Lord Mayor and Sheriff.
- Organise the Council's participation in ceremonial events, including civic and cathedral services.
- Attend and contribute to weekly civic diary meetings, which are held face to face on a Monday at Tower House in Canterbury
Working pattern
- 24 hours per week, part-time
- Must work at least 5 hours Mondays and Thursdays, other days and hours to be agreed
- Flexible, hybrid way of working.
- Occasional evening, weekend and Bank Holiday attendance is required to support civic events at sites and venues across the district.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, professional and confident working with a range of stakeholders, including elected members and senior representatives.

- Experience of coordinating activities, events, meetings or engagements involving multiple stakeholders.
Your skills
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with a range of internal and external contacts.
