The Facilities Management team at Canterbury City Council are looking for an FM Coordinator to join them.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Management team which is responsible for a range of building related services including repairs and maintenance, health and safety and compliance across a range of properties including offices, social housing, museums and heritage buildings.
We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their knowledge and experience in facilities management and is considering a career in this field. This role will enable you to work across a number of teams and build a greater understanding of this area of work.

About this facilities management job:
This role will be responsible for providing support and co-ordinating several tasks across the whole FM team.
Here’s what you’ll get up to:
- You’ll be assisting with complaint responses from housing tenants pulling together information from contractors and the housing repairs team
- You’ll organise training, liaising with trainers and teams for venues and dates.
- You’ll co-ordinate data gathering for key performance indicators
- You’ll take notes at contract and team meetings
- You’ll be helping the team to organise their team folders and maintain good records
Working pattern:
- Your working pattern will be Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays
- You will work 37 hours per week

- This role will be primarily home based with meetings and team working at the council offices when required. Access to the office space is available whenever appropriate

About you, the ideal FM Co-ordinator for the job:
Your knowledge:
- Requirements for dealing with social housing complaints
- Awareness of the legislation regarding damp and mould (desirable)
- Awareness of housing repairs and defects (i.e disrepair)
- Knowledge of local government working practices and regulation
Your Experience:
- Working in a similar environment with a focus on housing repairs and building projects.
- Gathering information from a variety of sources to assist in complaint responses
- Building and maintaining positive relationships across teams
- Minute taking at operational meetings
Your Skills:
- Good IT skills, use of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Sharepoint)
- Proven communication skills across a range of media (written, spoken)
- Flexible approach to work tasks and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Good level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work in a pressurised environment and seek help when needeExtract from the Role Profile
