Team

The Procurement Transformation Business Case represents a significant investment in strengthening procurement capability across the entire commercial lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and procurement through to contract and supplier management. This provides a unique opportunity to influence organisational change, deliver significant and sustainable savings, improve commercial outcomes, and drive continuous service improvement for the people of Bury and its partners.

Bury Procurement is on a journey of continuous improvement and has set a clear ambition to achieve a “Best” rating against the Commercial Continuous Improvement Assessment Framework (CCIAF) by 2030. The transformation programme will strengthen commercial governance, capability, systems, and performance, whilst helping the Council maximise value from its third-party spend and deliver substantial financial savings in an increasingly challenging fiscal environment.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a high-profile transformation agenda, working across a broad range of strategic, commercial, procurement, contract management, supplier relationship management, social value, and continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape how procurement and contract management are delivered across the organisation, contributing directly to better services, stronger partnerships, community wealth building, and improved outcomes for residents across Bury.
