About the role

Bury Council is seeking an experienced Electric Vehicle Project Manager to lead the rollout of EV charging infrastructure across the borough. You’ll develop Bury’s EV strategy, manage procurement and contracts, identify and approve sites, and work with GMCA, TfGM, council teams, chargepoint providers and operators, utility providers, and community stakeholders to deliver highquality chargepoint projects.

You’ll play a key role in supporting Bury’s climate change ambitions by delivering accessible, reliable EV charging that helps residents and businesses transition to cleaner transport. Working within the Environment Team, you’ll provide clear advice to senior leaders and ensure our EV programme reflects national policy, emerging technologies, and best practice.

You’ll need at least three years’ experience delivering significant EV charging infrastructure projects, strong project management and stakeholder skills, and a solid understanding of climate change, compliance, and health and safety. Excellent communication skills are essential.

A driving licence is required. Some outofhours work may be needed.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
