1 part time vacancy for an Early Years Support Worker role has arisen this is a 3 year fixed term post within the Early Years Team.

You will be expected to provide:

  • Practical and emotional support to children and their families
  • Plan and implement programmes of agreed work with children and their families
  • Promote parents’ participation in sessions and their child’s development

You will be Part of a skilled, friendly and supportive team and work closely with a wide range of professionals.


Early years support workers are required to:

  • Work closely with Early Years settings, Children’s Centre's and Early Help teams as well as other professionals.
  • Provide emotional support, advice and sign posting to parents, carers, and families
  • Support parents’ carers in all aspects of their child development.
  • Contribute to assessments and work alongside other agencies to ensure parents and families can make positive changes
  • To develop links with universal services and work alongside agencies to provide specific intervention
  • To provide the right support at the right time for children and their families
  • To plan, develop and implement universal services


You must

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education or similar relevant area.
  • Have experience of working with families aged 0-5
  • Have a sound knowledge of early child development and the early years foundation stage and current legislation and documents relating to early years education
  • To have experience of working with parent/carers
  • To have experience of multi-agency working
  • To have knowledge of the story so far or equivalent assessment tool


You will report directly to the Lead Officers for Early Years Development Work:

Sharon Walton

You will work across the borough of Bury delivering services within our 5 neighbourhoods

Normal hours of work are 14:48 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis with some evening and weekends
