About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Supply Chain Operative to join our Supply Chain Team based at Bradley Fold Depot. The team plays a vital role in ensuring that materials, equipment and supplies are received, stored and distributed efficiently to support services across the Council.
As a Supply Chain Operative, you will be responsible for receiving deliveries, managing stock, issuing materials to customers, operating warehouse equipment including forklift trucks, and maintaining accurate stock records using computerised stock management systems and barcode technology. The role combines warehouse operations, customer service and administrative duties, requiring excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Warehouse Supervisor and working within the wider Supply Chain Team under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across all Council departments, suppliers, contractors and customers. This is a hands-on role with no direct line management responsibilities, but you will be expected to work collaboratively and contribute to the efficient running of the stores operation.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience of working in a warehouse or stores environment.
- Knowledge of warehousing processes, stock control and materials handling.
- A current forklift truck licence.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Confidence using IT systems and stock management software.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and solve problems effectively.
- A strong commitment to health and safety and maintaining a safe working environment.
- A full driving licence and flexibility to work additional hours when required.

Location
Bradley Fold Depot
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some contractual overtime required to support stock checks and operational requirements.
